Album profile: Oxxxes

Second album from Baltimore, MD instrumental math-rock trio who mix up the complexities of jazz with the showmanship of old-school heavy metal. Serrated riffs battle it out with complex time signatures and key changes in music which sounds improvised but is actually tightly composed. Hyped by faux protests on the streets over its "pornographic" cover art, the album was recorded by Shellac's Bob Weston.
